(Dan Tri) – American actor Alec Baldwin is facing charges of manslaughter after a fatal gun accident on the set of the movie `Rust`.

In October 2021, while filming a scene using fake guns and bullets, actor Alec Baldwin accidentally shot a bullet at female photography director Halyna Hutchins, causing Ms. Hutchins to die.

Most recently, Alec Baldwin – the film’s male lead and producer – was prosecuted for manslaughter.

Actor Alec Baldwin has always insisted that he never pulled the trigger.

In April 2023, the prosecutor dropped the manslaughter charge against actor Baldwin, because of suspicions that the gun had undergone changes, affecting its operation.

In August 2021, prosecutors said they were considering prosecuting actor Alec Baldwin, after an in-depth examination of the prop gun was completed.

The results of the test showed that the gun still operates according to the correct principle.

The actor’s defense lawyer shared with the American media that they are ready to go to court and defend their client’s innocence.

However, the court decided to temporarily put these civil lawsuits on hold while the investigation of criminal charges against actor Alec Baldwin is underway.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed – the person who controlled the gun equipment used on the set of the movie Rust – is also facing charges of manslaughter.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was accused of being irresponsible in controlling gun props on set.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is also accused of drinking alcohol the evening before the fatal shooting accident.

The assistant director of the movie Rust – Mr. David Halls – soon pleaded guilty for failing to ensure gun safety on set.

Previously, the film production company Rust Movie Productions had to pay a fine of $100,000 to authorities in New Mexico state for labor safety violations.

On the set of the movie Rust, there were two dangerous incidents, two times bullets were suddenly fired even though this was not in the script.

Filming on Rust continued last April.
