Mr. Zelensky: Ukraine has a chance to win against Russia

(Dan Tri) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that US approval of the new aid package will give Ukraine a chance to win the current conflict with Russia.

`I think this support will really help strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces, and we will have a chance to win if Ukraine really has the weapons systems we need,` President Zelensky said during the meeting.

When asked to predict the conflict in the near future, Mr. Zelensky said: `It depends on when we actually have weapons on the ground… Now we have a chance to stabilize the situation and

`When we receive the reliable weapons we have offered, we will be able to predict actions more accurately,` he emphasized.

On April 20, the US House of Representatives passed four bills on foreign aid, including an aid package of nearly 61 billion USD for Ukraine.

Analysts say that the bill can easily pass the Senate because earlier this year, the Senate passed a similar bill.

The US has provided more than $130 billion in aid to Ukraine since the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out more than 2 years ago.

Capital dependent on Western aid, Ukraine’s counter-offensive campaign was therefore also severely affected.

In an interview yesterday, Mr. Zelensky mentioned information that former US President Donald Trump was said to have stated that if elected, he would pressure Ukraine to cede territory to Russia to end the conflict.

He said: `I am the president of a country in a state of war, I do not believe in rumors. When Mr. Trump comes to Ukraine and shares with me the formula to end the conflict, then I will

The Ukrainian leader further emphasized: `The strategy to end the conflict should not be based on what (Russian President) Mr. Putin said or some other people in his close team said, but based on very important factors.

After more than two years of conflict, Moscow affirmed that it is always open to direct negotiations with Ukraine or through Western countries, but all peace negotiations must be based on the actual situation, taking into account Russia’s interests.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently announced that Russia will not cease fire during peace negotiations with Ukraine to avoid repeating the scenario of Kiev withdrawing from negotiations at the last minute.
