Russia cited the absence of the `invincible` super tank T-14 in Ukraine

(Dan Tri) – Russia’s leading weapons contractor stated the reason why the country has not dispatched the most modern super tank in its arsenal, the T-14 Armata, to the Ukrainian battlefield.

According to news agency RIA Novosti, Sergei Chemezov, CEO of Russian defense company Rostec, revealed that the T-14 Armata main battle tank (MBT) will not be used in the war with Ukraine.

According to him, the reason is that these tanks have a high price, even though they have been put into service with the Russian armed forces.

`In fact, the Armata is a bit expensive. It is certainly superior to existing tanks in terms of functionality, but the high cost makes it difficult for the Russian army to use it at the present time

He said that it is reasonable for Russia to invest in cheaper weapons.

The T-14 Armata is a main battle tank manufactured by the Russian engineering company Uralvagonzavod.

At that time, a British military intelligence official wrote a research article, which assessed: `Armata represents the most revolutionary change in tank design in the past half century.`

Possessing `huge` features and a modern and solid structure, this Russian super tank is called `invincible` thanks to its ability to withstand all attacks and can unleash `fists`.

The T-14 Armata is equipped with a 125mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun capable of launching 3UBK21 Sprinter laser-guided missiles that can fly 12 km away.

This tank is also equipped with the Afghanit active defense system, including radar and sensors, capable of detecting and destroying guided missiles and anti-tank bullets being fired at it.

Designed in modular form, the T-14 Armata tank can be easily repaired and upgraded when necessary.

However, the T-14 is really an expensive tank.

Previously, there was information that Russia may have sent the T-14 to `test fire` in Ukraine to improve this tank line.

Last month, President Putin praised the T-90 Proryv tank during a visit to the Uralvagonzavod military factory.

`The T-90 is the best tank in the world without exaggeration. Our tankers and our opponents both recognize it as the best tank in the world,` he said.
