`If Ukraine loses, we all lose. The cost of not supporting Ukraine will far exceed the cost of repelling Russian forces,` the British and French foreign ministers warned on April 8.

According to these officials, world public opinion is watching the war and they `will judge if we fail`.

Mr. Cameron and Mr. Sejourne pointed out: `As discussed within the framework of the Paris Conference in February, we must make more efforts to ensure the defeat of Russia. We also need to continue to cooperate to face challenges.`

The above statement was made in the context that British Foreign Secretary Cameron will visit Washington this week and plans to persuade US congressional members to approve additional aid for Ukraine.

Previously, Mr. Cameron called on his European counterparts to put pressure on US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson.

Mr. Mike Turner, Chairman of the US House Intelligence Committee, said Mr. Johnson had promised to put the issue of supporting Ukraine to a vote after Congress returned from Easter break on April 9.

According to Mr. Johnson, the upcoming US aid package for Ukraine will include `a number of important adjustments`, including the possibility of supporting Ukraine in the form of loans.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said over the weekend that he believes the US Congress will eventually pass an additional aid package for Ukraine.

`In fact, if Ukraine had to choose between being supported today in the form of a loan or given it for free in a year, we would choose today. We have only one choice, which is to survive and win.`

Previously, he said the Ukrainian army was running out of weapons and ammunition due to stalled aid from the West.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has lasted more than 2 years and shows no signs of cooling down.

Russia and Ukraine have not sat at the negotiating table with each other since the peace talks in Istanbul (Türkiye) broke down in March 2022.

Moscow has repeatedly signaled its readiness to resolve conflicts through diplomatic means.

The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, Kirill Budanov, said: `The United Arab Emirates is currently considered the leading mediator in the prisoner exchange issue between Kiev and Moscow.

Mr. Budanov said that Türkiye no longer plays a central role in prisoner exchanges, and the UAE will be the replacement country.
