`There have been telephone communications between the leadership of Russia and Iran, our representatives and Israel. We have been very clear in these exchanges and conveyed to the Israeli side that Iran does not want

Mr. Lavrov noted that all experts gave the same explanation for Iran’s reaction to the attack that Tehran said was carried out by Israel against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria in early April.

`I hope I am not mistaken that Israel’s recent attack on targets in Isfahan was a response to that reaction,` Lavrov added.

According to Western media, Israel is said to have carried out a `limited` retaliatory attack against targets in Iran on the night of April 18.

The Iranian side confirmed that in some provinces of the country, the air defense system has been activated to deal with drones.

According to Tasnim, nuclear facilities in Isfahan province are completely safe.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saidĀ Russia was `studying` the details of the attack on Iran and that it was `too early to comment` until the nature of the incident became clear.

`In all cases, regardless of the situation, we continue to support restraint by all parties and refuse actions that could further escalate tensions in such a difficult region.`

The attack occurred nearly a week after Iran’s large-scale airstrike on Israel.

Commenting on reports that Iran has changed its nuclear doctrine, Mr. Lavrov said they `desire` to shift the focus from Israel’s activities in Gaza to threats from Tehran.

`They want to hold Iran responsible for an attack using nuclear weapons that the country does not possess. This has been confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iran is the purged country

Previously, the Kremlin spokesmanĀ told reporters on April 15 that Russia was extremely concerned about the escalation of tensions in the region and called on all countries in the region to exercise restraint.

According to Mr. Peskov, further escalation of tensions is not beneficial to either side.
