New car series will be introduced to Vietnamese customers in August: Mainly SUVs, promising good prices

(Dan Tri) – Although it is not the ideal time, due to it coinciding with the first half of the month Ngau, a time when many Vietnamese people are reluctant to buy high-value assets, in this August there are still many companies choosing to launch their products.

MG HS 2023

Although the information has not been confirmed by MG Vietnam, the dealer said the MG HS model is expected to launch this August with 2 versions: Trophy and Sport.

Instead of being imported from China, the MG HS model will return to the Vietnamese market with Thai origin, eliminating concerns about quality, and at the same time being exempt from import tax, promising a good selling price.

MG HS 2023 is a mid-life upgrade (facelift), expected to cost 750 million VND for standard configuration and 900 million VND for high-end configuration.

There is currently no information about the engine of the car imported to Vietnam, but in Thailand, the MG HS 2023 has 2 engine options.

The second is a hybrid powertrain consisting of the above turbocharged engine combined with a 122 horsepower electric motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Haval H6 hybrid

It is expected that the H6 hybrid will be Haval’s first and only car model in Vietnam this year, imported completely from Thailand.

According to dealer sources, Haval H6 will officially launch to Vietnamese customers this August, with an expected price of about 1.1 billion VND.

Haval H6 HEV uses a hybrid system including a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, producing a maximum capacity of 243 horsepower and maximum torque of 530Nm.

Expected safety equipment includes features: active emergency braking, front/rear collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, collision warning when opening the door

Omoda and Jeacoo car series

These are two brands belonging to Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery.

According to initial information, Omoda 5 for the Vietnamese market will have 3 versions, including COM, LUX and PRE, with expected prices of 699 million VND, 749 million VND and 799 million VND respectively.

In terms of overall vehicle size, Omoda 5 is in the B+ class crossover segment, but is classified by the company in the C-class SUV segment, due to its wheelbase of up to 2,730mm (Photo: KML).

Omoda 5 will have the option of a gasoline or electric engine, but detailed specifications of the pure electric variant have not been disclosed by the manufacturer.

The gasoline version will use a 1.6L turbocharger, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, for a maximum capacity of 197 horsepower and maximum torque of 290Nm.

It is expected that after the initial period of importing complete units, the Omoda 5 model will be transferred to assembly in Vietnam from next year.

In addition, Chery will also sell the Omoda S5 model, competing in the same segment as Kia K3 and Toyota Altis in Vietnam.

There is currently no official information about the version coming to Vietnam, but in the Russian and Chinese markets, the car has 2 engine options with a capacity of 1.5L naturally aspirated, giving 113 horsepower and torque.

There is also a high-performance version using a 1.6L turbocharged engine, giving a maximum capacity of 147 horsepower and maximum torque of 210 Nm, also with a CVT gearbox.

Meanwhile, with the Jaecoo brand, Chery is expected to introduce the Jeacoo 7 model to the Vietnamese market in the B+ class crossover segment.

The engine of the Jeacoo 7 will likely be the same as the Omoda 5, a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, giving a maximum capacity of 190 horsepower and maximum torque of 290Nm.

Toyota Yaris Cross

In Indonesia, the 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine of this B+ class crossover has a capacity of 105 horsepower and 138Nm of torque.

Both versions are equipped with a CVT continuously variable transmission with front-wheel drive, of which the 1.5HV version will have pure electric mode (EV Mode).

Toyota Corolla Altis upgraded version

Sources from Toyota dealers said the Altis model will have an upgraded version released this August.

It is currently unclear in the Vietnamese market what upgrades this B-class sedan will receive in the 2023 version.

In Thailand, Altis 2023 does not have many design changes, only equipped with new 16-inch rims in the standard version.

The engine is still the 1.8 gasoline engine and hybrid version.
